How do I apply?

TRIO / Student Support Services

TRIO applicants must have:

Applied and been accepted into an Associates degree program at the college
Registered for at least six credits
Applied for financial aid
Taken the Accuplacer assessment test (see CAPS for information)
Will qualify as low income, first generation and/or student with a disability
Qualified as a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
Taken the Student Behavioral Inventory in CAPS
Provided TRIO with a copy of your taxes from the previous year

Fill out a TRIO application and submit it to the TRIO office. Applications are primarily accepted for the fall semester with a limited amount of openings for spring semester. All students should begin the TRIO application process as soon as they are accepted to the college.

What are the program requirements?

TRIO students must meet with their counselor at least 2 times a semester, attend an Open Meeting, and participate in one workshop or other TRIO sponsored event. Workshops offered include study skills, resume writing, stress reduction, note taking and job search.
