Local Scholarships

Monsignor Philip Kenney Scholarship Fund
Awarded to motivated NH students who are economically disadvantaged, with a preference for Hispanics and other minorities who are enrolled in undergraduate study. See Financial Aid for applications. Deadline is April 8.

Skendarian-McCollom-Griffin Scholarship
Awarded to Mont Vernon residents seeking full-time post secondary education leading to certification, associate or bachelor degree. May be awarded to both high school seniors and continuing education students. Applications are available at the Mont Vernon General Store and Souhegan High School. Application deadline is April 8.

Welding Scholarships
Awarded to students enrolled in a welding-related educational or training program. Financial need is not required to qualify. Each award is an average of $500 - $1000, and is granted on an annual basis. Application deadline is March 1 for the following fall term. Statewide Scholarships

Early Childhood Education Scholarship Program
CCSNH partners with the NH Department of Health & Human Services to offer tuition assistance to child care providers who are entering or are currently in the field of Early Care and Education. Individuals who provide family child care, or work at least part time in a child care setting in New Hampshire, may be eligible to receive tuition assistance for Early Childhood Education courses offered through the CCSNH. Human Services/Community Social Services Scholarship
The NH Department of Health and Human Services, Bureau of Developmental Services through a cooperative agreement with the Community College System of NH, offers grants to students as tuition reimbursement towards a Community Social Services Certificate at any of the colleges/institute within the Community College System. The grants are available to any employee of one of twelve area agencies and their vendors. Adult Student Aid Program
Awarded to independent legal NH residents who have applied for all other available financial aid and still demonstrate an unmet need. Application deadlines are December 15, May 15 or August 15 for upcoming terms. See Financial Aid Office for applications.

Agnes Lindsay Trust
Awarded to matriculated students with demonstrated financial need who are permanent residents of towns in NH, VT, MA and ME with fewer than 5,000 residents. Deadline is August 19th. See Financial Aid Office for applications.

Alice & Samuel Yarnold Scholarship Trust
Awarded to students interested in nursing, medicine, social work or other related areas of post-secondary education. Applicants must be NH residents already in the process of postsecondary education and demonstrate financial need and scholastic excellence. Application deadline: May 2. BPW/NH Foundation, Inc.
Scholarship for women. For an application, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to: BPW/NH Foundation Inc., P.O. Box 336, Londonderry, NH 03053.

Career Aid for Technical Students (CATS)
For two-year degree or vocational students. For application go to www.nhcf.org and click on “Student Aid.”

CEO (College Equals Opportunity) Scholarship
Awarded to current college students entering their junior or senior year. Open to NH residents, although students may attend college out of state. Preference will be given to community college transfer students. Application deadline: March 15. See Financial Aid Office for applications.

Employee-Sponsored Scholarship
Two awards given yearly to full- or part-time students who are returning to college after being out of high school for five plus years. The student must be matriculated and have completed 12 college credit hours with a GPA of 2.5 or better, and must be a resident of NH. Deadline is August 19th. Latinos Unidos Scholarship
Awarded to NH residents up to the age of 24 who have at least one parent who is fully Latino. Application deadline is April 11th. See Financial Aid Office for applications.

Mary Felicia Falzarano Scholarship Fund
Offered through the NH Charitable Foundation to benefit students attending vocational technical colleges or other post-secondary institutions. Applicants must be a current resident of Bradford, Croydon, Goshen, Lempster, Newbury, New London, Newport, Springfield, Sunapee, Sutton, Warner or Wilmot. Application deadline is April 8.

The Medallion Fund
Scholarships for vocational and technical careers. Applications accepted at any time. See Financial Aid for applications.

NASA/PSNH
Over 50 $1000 scholarships available to returning and new students enrolled in associate degree or certificate programs in science, mathematics, engineering or technology. Website: www.ccsnh.edu/content/nasachallenge.htm.

New England Graphic Arts Scholarship
Awarded to New England high school seniors, high school graduates, or students currently enrolled in an accredited college that offers a degree related to printing or publishing. Applications will be accepted until May 15th for the following fall term. See Financial Aid Office for applications.

NH Association of Broadcasters Student Broadcaster Scholarship
Awarded to NH residents enrolled or enrolling in an over-the-air broadcast program at an accredited two or four year college (need not be in NH). Application deadline: April 22. Please see Financial Aid Office for applications.

NH Grocers Association Scholarship
Awarded to college students who work for a member company of the grocers association or has a parent that works for the grocers association. For more information call 669-9333. Application deadline is March 15th.

Skrungloo Farm Student Aid Program
Awarded to NH residents who demonstrate financial need, academic merit, and other nonacademic factors such as community service, school activities and work experience. Application deadline: March 15. See Financial Aid Office for applications.

National Scholarships

Hispanic Scholarship Fund
Applicants must be of Hispanic heritage; be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident; be currently enrolled part-time or full-time at a community college; have plans to transfer and enroll full-time at a 4 year institution; have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00; and apply for federal financial aid using the FAFSA. Deadline: February 1. For more information, go to www.hsf.net.

Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Scholarship
Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship Program. Two students nominated per campus. Nominees must have at least a 3.5 GPA, have sophomore status by 12/31/05, or have graduated after May 2001 from a two- year college. Nominees must plan to enroll in a 4 year institution in the fall of 2008. Selection criteria include academic excellence and unmet financial need. Deadline: February 1.. National Association of Women in Construction Scholarship
NAWIC Founders’ Scholarship Foundation For undergraduates enrolled in 2 or 4 year construction related program. Student must successfully complete at least 1 year and have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Deadline is February 1st. Contact: NAWIC, Belinda Holland at (817) 877-5551.

Talbots Women’s Scholarship
Awards given to US women who have earned a high school diploma or GED at least 10 years ago. Must be seeking a degree from an accredited 2 or 4 year college or technical school and have at least 2 full-time semesters remaining. Application deadline: March 5th.

Target All-Around Scholarship
Awarded to high school seniors and undergraduate college students aged 24 and under who are enrolled full-time and have a GPA of 2.0 or higher. Recipients are chosen based on number of community volunteer service hours, volunteer leadership awards and honors, essay on volunteer service, and appraisal completed by volunteer supervisor or leader. Third Wave Scholarship
Awarded to all full-time or part-time students age 30 and under who are enrolled in or have been accepted to an accredited college or community college. The primary criterion is financial need, but students should also be involved as activists, artists, or cultural workers working on issues such as racism, homophobia, sexism, or other forms of inequality. Worldwide Aiga Scholarship
Awarded to minority and economically-disadvantaged students of applied art. Deadline is late March. For application go to www.worldstudio.org.
